Wrapping up Air Force - Army made too many mistakes and mishandles to beat a team as good as Air Force. When the season is over we may well see that Air Force is the best team Army played this year. Through about 2 quarters I felt this game was winnable - then things started slipping and Army had a tough time playing catch-up. At the very least at least the Commander In Chief Trophy will change scenery for the year, so that, to me, is a good thing.
Army needs to maintain their focus for another week in the effort to garner a bowl bid Saturday at Kent State. With the margin for error becoming slimmer with every loss, the season's focus comes down to the next game. Lots of people predicted Kent State as Army's 6th win, but at this point the Black Knights don't need six wins... just one.
The program is in good hands and the team is poised to take the next step in their development. This should be a long week looking ahead to the game, but I'll try to stay on top of things here. One thing that seems pretty obvious is that the game at Kent State won't be televised. That's a downer for fans for what should be the crux of Army's season. I'll keep you posted on the availability of that game as we move on.
So let's get the Army / Air Force story, stats and highlights out of the way.
