What is the point of this? Playoffs a likely addition beginning in 2014.
We've had national champions before without one. To me it looks like the same teams gain access to the larger D1-AA playoff and the same teams have won titles for stretches at a time. Already gone is the banter between seasons about who is really the best team - the BCS has eliminated that entertaining offseason discourse - as well as eliminating ties. What are we going to talk about in the long football off season? Who knows?.. hopefully not the NFL. That boring-ass league has cornered the market on institutionalized intent to injure, moronic personality disorders and obscene financial expectation for all involved.
That's just it: with nothing else to talk about chatter has already begun on how NCAA football is an ever-expanding cash scheme. These decisions to change the time-tested rules of football aren't in the interest of the game, or the fans or even the players... from now on football is dictated by money, nothing more, nothing less.
It's enough to make you sick.
