Army played well, but not well enough. Predictably the talk is all of moral victories.

It's natural to want to compare the effort put forth for one team to what happen in the next, but I'll stop short of counting any chickens before they are hatched.

Stanford partisans were underwhelmed by their team's performance.

Ironically, so were Army' players. Terry Baggett spoke with the media after the game. 

"We didn't play the game we wanted to play," Baggett said. "Our goal coming into the game was to win. There were about three offensive plays offensively that changed this game. We have to make those plays every time. It's a step in the right direction, but it's not the final step for us."
